Evi Paelinck from Edinburgh, Scotland
Ever considered going on Erasmus in Scotland? It is less obvious choice, but for Evi it was a conscious decision and she enjoyed every moment. Read her story here.
"When I arrived in Edinburgh, I never thought that this city would capture my heart so quickly. The first day I got to know the Scottish nightlife by ignorantly stepping into a hip club in a tourist outfit was the beginning of a wonderful adventure. It is impossible to give a summary. Together with two other Belgian girls we started with a hike to Arthur's Seat. I myself had hardly any hiking experience and sighed more than once before we reached the top. Once there, besides feeling a little proud, I felt very happy: pushing through is always worth it in every way. Afterwards, we ate our sandwich - which we had picked up randomly at the Scottish Parliament earlier in the day after having to go through security first - in the grass while enjoying a beautiful view. We ended the day by tasting the Scottish specialty haggis (sheep's organs!), which amazingly wasn't even that bad."
