Northern Ireland is so beautiful that you forget the rain
Stefan Van Moorbeek is a master student of Architecture at UGent and did his Erasmus in Belfast.
"With 280,000 inhabitants Belfast is not really a big city, but charming all the more. The local university has beautiful buildings and a well-oiled administration, and guidance from which they could learn something in Belgium. I felt at home right away and quickly made some friends. A lot of scenes from Game of Thrones were shot in the beautiful countryside of Northern Ireland, so the road trips along the coast and inland were definitely a highlight. Surfing along rugged cliffs in the icy waters was also an unforgettable experience. All these things almost make us forget that it rains a lot there, but then we just snuggled up inside with a fresh Guinness. Slainté!"
