Erasmus Stories from France, Denmark and Finland
Anyone who goes on an Erasmus exchange program is guaranteed to have the time of their life. We found three students who like to share their experiences abroad.
Lara Van Audenhove – France (Grenoble)
"From having a drink in the park to an Erasmus party that lasted until the early hours. Unfortunately, all beautiful things come to an end. As the end of our foreign adventure approaches, we realize that saying goodbye won't be easy..."
Evi Vandenbussche – Denmark (Haderslev)
"In addition, we were told that we had a personal cleaning lady. You certainly won't hear us complain about life as an Erasmus student."
Eline Vande Voorde – Finland (Pori)
"Although it was still summer there, it was getting colder. Before we knew it, we were cycling through the snow to school in temperatures of 15 degrees below zero. There were even days when we had only three hours of daylight. When we went to party and slept a little longer, we didn't see a single speck of sunlight. You can imagine how lousy we felt then. But it is an incredible experience. We also rode a husky sled and a snowmobile. We stayed in a cottage that had a large sauna, on a small lake. The cold weather was not always negative. The sauna we had in our house became a daily ritual. Rolling in the snow afterwards was also part of it. Bliss!"
