Triennial Bruges

If you haven’t heard about the city of Brugge, you must be hiding under a rock. The amazing West-Flemish capital is known for its medieval landmarks and gorgeous historical center. It is definitely worth checking out! And we might have just the perfect opportunity for you...

If you have been looking for a reason to go to Brugge, but do not know yet what to do there, try checking out the Triennial Brugges, which goes from the 8th of May until the 24th of October. Contemporary art and architecture are already interesting, but the 2021 exhibition called “TraumA” comes to remind us that three years is too long of a wait for these installations to be back in town.

This year, the approach taken will spark interest in many of you: they decided to create an ‘uncanny’ history and reality of Brugge. The history and art lovers will be certainly satisfied with the marvelous exposition, and going with friends could spark the most interesting conversations!

Here is what the amazing crew that managed to put it all together had to say about this year’s theme in their press release:

“TraumA adds an extra dimension to the public or private spaces that were the subject of the previous editions: the dimension of the sensed space, where past and present, dream and nightmare claim the subjectification of the individual experience of the city and—building on the perception of Bruges-la-Morte as a symbolic city avant la lettre— also question the image of Bruges as a city.”

- Curatorial team

We all have been anxious to see expositions and this is the perfect time to get out there. We know everyone wants to rest after a tiring exam period, and that is why we decided to go ahead and make an exclusive ISIC schedule, so that you can enjoy your day in Brugge to the fullest and not walk around the city with no direction. Bellow you can find the schedule, together with all installations and respective information.

* Please check opening ours and address changes per date for each installation. All reservations can be done via www.triennalebrugge.be

** The train station was used as the starting point of reference
